JOB SUMMARY
This position assists the water production foreman with the physical operation of the water production facilities, wells, pump stations, ground and elevated storage facilities, chlorination and chemical injection stations and general plant clean up and appearance.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES &
Responsibilities:
The listed duties are essential job functions and are not exhaustive. All other duties as assigned are part of the job description. Attendance and punctuality is an essential function of this position.
Duties Include
1. Operation of water well and booster pumps.
2. Operation of storage facilities and distribution systems.
3. Maintain accurate records, receive work orders, address complaints.
4. Conduct general maint. at water production sites. Use mowers, tractor and other equipment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1. Must have basic understanding of SCADA Systems and Controls
2. Must understand the basic operation of submersible water wells and their controls.
3. Must understand the basic operation of large booster pumps and their controls.
4. Ability to interact well with the public and employees.
5. Must have a basic understanding of math related to liquid volume and know or be able to ascertain the estimated availability or demand on storage.
6. Must have basic knowledge of distribution system requirements and testing procedures.
7. Must be able to lift weights of one hundred pounds.
8. Must be able to work on-call duty.
MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, AND WORK AIDES
Truck, Hoisting Equipment, Mowing Equipment, Water Testing Equipment, Meter Pumps, Chlorine Testing and Regulating Equipment.
PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIRED
Ear Plugs, Eyewear, Heavy Boots, SCBA, Gas Monitor, Traffic Control.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2. Minimum three years experience in maintenance and/or operation of public water supply plants or systems.
3. Possess a Valid Class C Groundwater Operators License issued by the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission.
4. Must be able to lift weights of one hundred pounds.
5. Must be able to pass a drug test and criminal background check.
6. Must possess a Valid Texas Class B Commercial Drivers License.
EOEEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
